Horovitz, Joseph

(b. 1926)
   British composer, of Austrian origin. The son of Bela Horovitz, he was born in Vienna. He came to England with his family in 1938. He studied at New College, Oxford and the Royal College of Music. He began his career as a composer in London, and later was associate conductor of the Glyndebourne Opera. He taught composition at the Royal College of Music.
